He gets everything right without ever sounding indulgent or campy. I find this album to have a very lucid, clear flow. Many people are against New Age music and I am also against the poorly done efforts or the ones seeking to exploit a gullible market, but when it's done right I think it's a beautiful movement capturing the highest ideals of the meditative way of living. This is one of Deuter's best albums in my opinion. I've been turning to this album for months now whenever I feel I'm lacking love. The music is gentle and unchallenging, but there's a beauty in it with is truly soothing to hear. I also do not think I've heard a better blend of natural sounds (water and such) with instrumentation on any similar CD.
I have never needed drugs to shift my state of mind and body---all I need is music such as this. This music can help me calm down and yet keep my mind alert at the same time. I have several Deuter CDs and both this one and Garden of the Gods are my favorites. Choosing from my collections of relaxation/spiritual/meditation music, I like to use this one for relaxation and slowing down from a busy, fast-paced day. Good for contemplative type of meditating if you want to keep a clear thinking mind in quite time.I have used this music in my yoga classes and would say that the music evokes feelings of radiance and an inner vision of being filled with lightness and clarity.
But this one has a couple of tracks on it (Amida & Joyful Path) that don't seem to fit in with the rest of the music. Doesn't work for my massage practice because of this. I love all the other Deuter cds that I have. They don't have the same fullness of sound, and are very quiet compared to the other tracks.
I transfered it to my mp3 player so I have soothing calming music whenever I need to relax. I love this cd. This is my favorite cd by Deuter.
Now, when I play it for my 3 month old daughter, she settles right down for a nice, long nap with Buddha Nature playing in the background. No wonder she loves it. I bought this album to play during the birth of my son. It's so relaxing and peaceful.
